The 11 Most Bizarre Comics Superpowers

A little over a year ago, when Listicles was first coming into existence, we began to develop a comic book hero called Listor, who would be able to organize any and all information into a list. His day job would be at an alternative weekly publication, where he’d write lists, but at night he would be a government agent charged with organizing top secret information. His sexy nemesis, Ms. Information, would always be trying to create confusion. Of course, our life then turned into an issue of Listor, so we abandoned the idea.

We’re not sure if that superpower would qualify us for ComicsAlliance’s listicle of The 11 Most Bizarre Comics Superpowers, though by comparison Listor seems much less far-fetched. Take the Brown Bomber from Justice League, who sounds like a character from a Dave Chappelle skit. Without his superpower activate, The Brown Bomber is a fat, bald, racist white guy, but as soon as he says “Black Power,” as shown at right (click for bigger image), he turns into a blaxploitation character with an afro and a gold chain. We shouldn’t need to list the ways that superpower is ridiculous.
