9 Famous Tracking Shots
We couldn’t agree more with the folks at mental_floss that there are few things more beautiful and weirdly exhilarating than a perfectly executed and choreographed tracking shot or long take in a movie. That’s why we’re surprised they left their list at 9 Famous Tracking Shots when they could so easily have expanded it into double digits with obvious entries like a couple from Children of Men (2006), and another included after the jump.
Mother of Tears (2007): Dario Argento films his daughter walking through a beautiful decomposing Gothic mansion for four minutes.
Then of course there’s Russian Ark, which is an 80-minute tracking shot, but that’s wicked boring.
