We love a science fiction film that plunges us into a completely different setting, where we get to rediscover everything from the language to the fashions to the laws of physics. Even better, we love a sci-fi movie that, within its imaginative new universe, sprouts a crazy dream sequence where the laws and rules are unsettled and redefined all over again. io9 has done a bang-up job compiling 43 Science Fiction Dream Sequences, spanning from Fritz Lang’s Metropolis to Michel Gondry’s Science of Sleep. Of course, our favorite has to be any and all of Dale Cooper’s dreams from David Lynch’s Twin Peaks.
