We once thought that the funniest prank anybody could ever pull on an unsuspecting friend was the old box-inside-a-box-inside-a-box birthday gift, were what seems like a huge present turns out to be multiple layers of packaging with nothing at the center (or coal at the center, in the Christmas version). Now, our taste for comedy s a little greener. Because, as an after-school special might say, there’s nothing funny about wasteful packaging.

Creative Cloud demonstrates this idea very nicely with their listicle of 10 Terrible Packaging Fails, which features some truly unbelievable abuses of packaging technology. Though more subtle than some of the list’s other disasters, we appreciated that HP ships their paper in a sheath of protective paper that is then protected by another layer of reinforced paper. Good work!
