11 Creepy Costumed Time Out Dolls

Sending kids to stand in the corner to reprimand naughty behavior seems, well, slightly arcane as far as ways of flexing parental authority go. Why not make them wear dunce caps too while we’re at it? A slightly more humane–though infinitely more creepy and still on balance foolish–variation of the standing in the corner punishment involves the placing of lifelike, life-size child dolls in the corner, which is somehow supposed to scare the kids out of misbehaving, or something.

We don’t exactly understand how they work (or are expected to work), but go-to-your-corner dolls are definitely weird enough to make us not want to go to the corner no matter what. Not only are they like a way-too-close for comfort creepy kid, they also come in themed costumes, which we think is awesome. Just look at Urlesque’s listicle of 11 Creepy Costumed Time Out Dolls, the most random of which much be the naughty knight at right. We found another weird time out doll, which we’ve sent to the corner past the jump.

The Angel on Time Out (a little counter-intuitive, no?)
