Top 10 Nazi-Killing Movies
Ahead of a review over at our sister site The L Magazine, we just saw Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and, well, there’s much Nazi-killing going on in that there WWII revenge fantasy. How does it compare to some other cinematic Nazi-murdering sprees? Well, ScreenJunkies sets out to put Inglourious Basterds in context with their listicle of the Top 10 Nazi-Killing Movies. All told there are probably fewer Nazi deaths than in Saving Private Ryan, mostly because Tarantino’s film has a much smaller scope than Spielberg’s epic. But, on the other hand, there are certainly more blood-soaked SS uniforms in the newer film than in The Dirty Dozen, the entire Indiana Jones series and Downfall combined. We’re especially impressed that they included this film:
That would be Shock Waves (1977), about a reclusive Nazi general breeding zombie soldiers. Which brings us to ScreenJunkies’ most egregious omission…
Dead Snow (2009)
This unbelievably entertaining Norwegian horror comedy about Nazi zombies attacking a bunch of college students at a cabin is easily one of the best Nazi-killing movies in any genre.

Yeah, we thought about Dead Snow, but since we hadn’t yet seen it, we decided against it. Didn’t want to write about a movie we hadn’t seen.
At least we’d seen parts of Shock Waves.
Thanks for the write up!
