14 Beautiful New Commercials

Sure, we admit that in this advanced age of corporate synergy and super-sophisticated PR, getting video artists to make ads for giant corporations is a dubious enterprise to be applauding. However, to make it in such a competitive art world and design marketplace one has to, as they say, “pimp the system,” so we applaud the extremely creative people behind these 14 Beautiful New Commercials (but not necessarily the goods and services they are hawking).

Sony Ericsson’s “Big Screen” (by HUSH)

Low-tech ad sells high-tech product.

U.S. Cellular’s “Shadow Puppets” (by Publicis & Hal Riney)

Cute kissing rabbits could sell anything.

International Olympic Committee’s “All Together Now” (by Coler & Weber United)

It’s so pretty! They couldn’t possibly accept bribes, right?

SOS Mata Atlântica’s “Pee During the Shower” (by F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi, Brazil)

A chorus of singing kids from a developing nation could make us do anything.

Fuel TV’s “Tame the Beast” (by Elastic)

Clearly inspired by our most recent surfing excursion.

Scion xB’s “Splicer” (by Attik)

We think Scions are possibly the ugliest cars of the decade, but damn if they don’t over-compensate with beautiful ads.

Hellmann’s “Eat Real, Eat Local” (by Ogilvy Toronto)

Now here’s one we can really get behind.

Pop Tarts’ “Flavorhood” (by Leo Burnett USA)

Whatever happened to Pop Tarts anyways? Do people still eat them? Also, this would be amazing as a rap song.

Peugeot’s “Perfect Day” (by Stink & Psyop)

In principle we don’t like car commercials because we dislike cars, but the French are so good at making insanely beautiful ads that we can’t turn away.

Louis Vuitton’s “Art, Fashion and Architecture Book” (by Camille Scherrer)

Book ads rarely look so exciting.

ThreeBond Super Glue’s “Bond Your Sparks” (by I&S BBDO, Japan)

Cool! Glue gets you high and allows you to create the perfect music to freak out to.

Absolut Vodka’s “Anthem” (by TBWA New York)

Something of a departure from form for Absolut, but we’ll take it!

Santander’s “Live More” (by Euro RSCG Helsinki)

So much quirkiness!

Barclays’ “Fake” (by Venables Bell & Partners)

This is basically exactly how we feel most weekend (and a few weekday) mornings.
