Top 30 Film Title Sequences

Often an afterthought on the long checklist of post-production duties, movie title sequences are too frequently totally half-assed last minute affairs. Every so often, though, the person in charge of this seemingly menial task really goes all-out to create something truly engaging, original and somehow complementary to the story about to begin. Creative Review’s Adam Lee Davies has taken on the monumental task of picking the Top 30 Film Title Sequences, and by and large we agree. We’re glad, for instance, that the cool credits for David Fincher’s Panic Room made the list, but we’re surprised by a couple omissions we’ve included after the jump.

Anatomy of a Murder (Otto Preminger, 1959, with music by Duke Ellington!)

Lost Highway (David Lynch, 1997)
