100 Extraordinary Examples of Paper Art
As kids, we once made this fairly pathetic paper Christmas tree-shaped ornament. It wasn’t really paper art, it wasn’t really even paper trash, but our parents held onto it anyways and it still gets a new layer of tape when it goes up every holiday season.
What we were trying to create, obviously, was something more along the lines of the pieces featured in Webdesigner Depot’s listicle of 100 Extraordinary Examples of Paper Art. We’re especially huge fans of Jen Stark (work pictured), whose crazy, psychedelic cut-outs are the kind of delirious formal abstraction we can never get tired of no matter how long we stare. That being said, we were a little surprised by the exclusion of another wildly imaginative and media-bending paper artist…

The Madison, Wisconsin artist creates elaborate and colorful characters from paper cut-outs, many of which take the forms of comical, mythic creatures.
