Not long ago, impressing us with ice cream would have taken very little effort. In the years following our discovery that there was more than vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, even the most obvious combination of ingredients (say, mint chocolate chip) was enough to have us hooked.

Now we’re all grown up, though, so it takes a little something extra creative and flavorful to get us excited about ice cream. Something, for instance, like the ridiculous concoctions covered in the Woman’s Day listicle of the Top 10 Innovative Ice Cream Flavors, of which our favorite (going simply on taste bud imagination), must be the fig and goat cheese swirl ice cream from Mike’s Table, pictured at right.
