We’d like to say that it qualifies as some kind of public performance art, like defacing some symbolic monument whose legacy you disagree with (like the scene in Life of Brian where the titular Messiah defaces the Roman temple), but really the practice of pretending to have sex with statues is just an obvious and really easy visual pun.

That isn’t to say we don’t enjoy a good statue sex shot every so often, but you should pick and choose which images from Manofest’s listicle of The 50 Funniest Statue Sex Photos Ever (NSFW) you look at, because some are decidedly superior to the others. One of our favorites, for instance, appears at right.
