Beloved Metropolis resident (and Kryptonian by birth) Superman (aka Clark Kent) turns 71 today, though he hasn’t aged a bit. In fact, befitting his “superness,” he actually looks younger now than he did then. The heroic character created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster first appeared in print on June 30, 1938, and since then has achieved all manner of milestone, like saving the planet (a billion times), breaking controversial stories at The Daily Planet, turning back time, fighting alongside and against fellow superheroes, and having kids.
