The 12 Most Unfortunate Product Names
We all make mistakes when coming up with brand names, that’s just a fact of our product-saturated lives. For instance, a few months back (just over five months, to be exact) we had what we thought was a brilliant idea for a weblog where we would aggregate and create lists (because everybody loves lists). People we mentioned the idea to thought it was a terrific idea (they all said: “Oh my god! I love lists.”), until we told them the name of the blog.
The standard response was: “Testicles? Why would you call it testicles?” Well, focus groups be damned, we made it happen and things went okay, we’re still on the giant shelf in the Interweb supermarket, which is more than we can say for the items included in Weird Up’s listicle of The 12 Most Unfortunate Product Names, like the “cock flavored” soup mix at right.
