5 Proud Fictional Roosters
Today, we’re told, is Rooster Day – which, being half French, makes us a little tingly under the beret. Of course, the French only invented the rooster (hence why it is our national emblem), but now with immigration, globalization and whatnot there are all kinds of roosters. To celebrate just the choicest, tastiest of the the fictional poultry coup, here are Listicles’ 5 Proud Fictional Roosters.
The Chicken from Family Guy
Talk about overkill! This joke got old halfway into the first fight. Yet here we are on Peter’s third specist assault on primetime’s favorite recurring rooster character.
Rocky (voiced by Mel Gibson) in Chicken Run
An American rooster on a British farm voiced by an Australian Christian fundamentalist. Truly the most world-wise rooster ever.
Buck Cluck (voiced by Gary Marshall) in Chicken Little
Channeling rooster pride into a somewhat upstanding father figure.
Rooster Cogburn (John Wayne) in Rooster Cogburn
We never knew John Wayne could be so talkative until Rooster was paired with Katharine Hepburn’s chatterbox.
Warner Bros.’ Foghorn Leghorn (voiced by Mel Blanc from his 1946 debut until 1986)
Just to clarify, he’s supposed to be a gay Southern gentleman, right?
