4 Flashy U.S. Dollar Redesigns

You know, our less worldly friends often comment, on those rare occasions they come out from under their bubbly rock of a country, that other nations’ colorful currencies (Euros, Canadian dollars, Indian rupees, etc.) look silly. Of course, when the salmon-tinged $20 bills debuted, the Treasury Department’s commercial campaign was some seriously silly waste of money (does anybody know where we can find those ads? You know, the ones with people rolling the new twenties along their arms and shoulders like basketballs?).

More to the point, though, it’s really American money that’s way out of style, as Design You Trust demonstrates with their listicle of 4 Flashy U.S. Dollar Redesigns. We’re particularly fond of Michelle Haft’s proposed revamping (at right), especially with its focus on industry and labor motifs over the centuries-old exploits of rich white men. In with the new!
