Though we can’t really claim to be full-fledged typeface nerds, we certainly like to keep up with what’s new and fresh in fonts. And given how nebulous the web’s various graphic design communities can be, it’s nice to have something to guide us on our way, like Inspired Magazine’s listicle of 20 Websites for Font, Letter and Symbol Enthusiasts.

The entries cover everything from committed typeface designers (like Our Type and Just-My-Type) through massive cataloging sites (like Font Squirrel and Font Shop) to the inevitable T-shirt-selling spin-off (Type Tees). Our favorite discovery was Word It, which gives artists and designers a word of the month then posts their submissions. The results can be a little uneven, but they can also be brilliant, as in designer Brad Thomas‘ response to April’s word of the day (at right).
