Far be it for us to assume that the folks to the right of the political aisle don’t care about the environment. After all, even crazy libertarians have an irrepressible green thumb. Not only that, but some Republicans in American politics might actually merit the moniker “environmentalist.”

Of course, by “some” we mean 6, and by “6″ we mean those politicians mentioned in TreeHugger’s listicle about The 6 Greenest Republicans in Office. Our hats go off, especially, to Maine Senator Susan Collins (seen enjoying the environment at right) for being one of the 3 Republican senators who voted in favor of President Obama’s green-tinted stimulus package.
