The current fad for oversized sneakers in variously garish, neon and glittering colors has birthed some spectaculary ugly footwear. Depending on where you live, you may see your fare share of such pedestrian unpleasantness on a daily basis.

If you live in a culturally deprived place, though, and don’t know what we’re talking about, YepYep’s listicle of The 10 Ugliest Sneakers of the Last 20 Years will get you up to speed on all the glorious fashion camp you’ve missed. The Nike Air Sharkleys (some strange contraction of Charles Barkley and Dennis Rodman, apparently) at right are a useful archetype at number 8, but we couldn’t be more in agreement with YepYep on their number one.
