It’s taken us so long to accrue the most standard kitchen appliances and integrate them into our food prep routines that we can’t really imagine what we’ll need next. Ultimately, the things missing from our kitchen tool kit tend to be very rudimentary – whisk, bottle opener, spatula, etc. – so we’d be at a loss faced with some of the conspicuous objects covered in DVICE’s listicle of 8 Outrageous Food Gadgets.

Our poor barbecuing skills, for instance, would be all the more apparent when put to use on the Kalamazoo Sculpture Grill, seen at right. And at $6,495, we can think of much cheaper ways to undermine our fragile sense of male meat-eating potency, thank you very much.
