5 Great Horror Crossovers

Though horror devotees often display a ritualistic distrust of movies that try to fuse other genres onto a horror structure, we believe there’s something to be said for the giddy recombination of generic registers. After all, so many of the greatest horror films are also extremely funny (Suspiria, Friday the 13th, etc.). David Wellington of Horror Hacker agrees, and has backed up this claim with a listicle of 5 Great Horror Crossovers. And while we completely agree with Shaun of the Dead, Alien and Guy Maddin’s Dracula, we’re especially impressed by the inclusion of Peter Jackson’s hilarious Dead Alive:

If only we could laugh so hard at Jackson’s epic of xenophobism, Lord of the Rings.
