As you may have heard (especially if you live/work in New York City), there was some recent drama over the official re-naming of the patriotism-friendly Freedom Tower as the corporate-cold 1 World Trade Center. In response, the New York Times blog City Room launched an open invitation to designers for a sexy 1 World Trade Center logo pitch. The results (some stunning, some hideous, some satiric) were revealed yesterday when City Room posted the resulting 20 Alternative 1 World Trade Center Logos. Our favorite, at right, is the clever work of one Ryan Waller of New Haven, Connecticut.
