12 Velcro-Ladden Clothing Designs

Today, we’re told, is the anniversary of the zipper (the clothing technology, not the amusement park ride), though we weren’t able to find any evidence to back this claim up.In fact, the original zipper was patented on November 7, 1891, so our zipper listicle will have to wait a few months.

Not to worry, though, because this presents an ideal opportunity to regale you with stylish incidences of the zipper’s slow cousin, velcro (which was created in 1941 by a Swiss inventor named George de Mestra). Quite literally an elaborate system of hooks and nodes (as seen at right), velcro never really caught on in the fashion world. In our attempt to give velcro some street cred, here are Listicles’ 12 Velcro-Ladden Clothing Designs.
