The World’s 10 Worst Greenwashers
Maybe if U.S. currency wasn’t green, the whole concept of the “green revolution” and corporate “greenwashing” wouldn’t sound like such a disgusting corruption of vital ideals in the name of marketing. Here we are, though, in a country full of eager green buyers with disappearing green bills, so it’s not surprising that some extremely brown companies are putting on a green face (for “environmental,” not for “greed,” of course). To navigate these distinctions, WebEcoist has this helpful listicle of The World’s 10 Worst Greenwashers. We’re especially outraged by the “empathetic scientist” greenwashing ad genre, as seen in this Exxon commercial:
