If the Obama administration is acting like a bit of a national therapist these days, then Business Week has the listicle of its most needy clients (we hear they charge on a sliding scale). Compiling a reverse-quality of living index, BW has ranked America’s 10 Unhappiest Cities based on suicide and depression statistics, crime and divorce rates, the number of cloudy days in a year and the most recent unemployment rates. Many of the usual suspects are here: New Orleans, St. Louis, Detroit (with an unemployment rate nearing 20 percent!). But frankly, we were very surprised by the survey’s most depressed city in the country, pictured at right. Hint: it’s better known for coffee shops, microbreweries and excellent urban planning.
