7 New Animated Music Videos
As you may recall, oh faithful readers, some time ago we posted a listicle of some of our favorite animated music videos, only to realize that there were innumerable entries we couldn’t include. Since then the ranks of animated musical short films have swelled so much that we are now happily able to present these 7 New Animated Music Videos. Granted, some of them aren’t super-new, and some are not completely animated, but we still love them just the way they are.
Kid Cudi, “Day And Night” (directed by So-Me)
Like Kanye’s “Heartless” video, but better!
Dan Black, “Alone” (directed by Chic & Artistic)
Norman McLaren would be proud.
The Raveonettes, “Black + White” (directed by Chris Do)
Animated and in black and white. Wow!
Of Montreal, “Id Engager” (directed by Marc Reisbig and Anne Berkaak)
Pretentious lyrics alert! Also, the Sea of Monsters sequence of Yellow Submarine comes to mind.
Berry Weight, “Equations” (directed by Mathieu Foucher)
Pretty play of Gothic silhouette motifs.
Jemapur, “Clarte” (directed by Genki Ito)
This really belongs in a museum video art exhibition.
Pet Shop Boys, “Love Etc.” (directed by Han Hoogerbrugge)
The M.I.A. aesthetic applied to a Pet Shop Boys video. Strangely effective.
