A few days ago we pointed you towards a post about greenwashing, in which several companies made claims of environmental awareness in commercials that seemed incompatible with their business practices. Continuing in that vein, for this edition of our weekly showcase of moving image art, Thursday’s 3 Cool Videos, we’re looking at corporate advertising that puts forth suspiciously benevolent goals and claims in an attempt to dispel negative brand association. Perhaps the most even-handed of these commercials, this spot inviting dialog on the nuclear energy issue still sounds like a lot of “Sure it’s dangerous and harmful, but it’s worth it.”

Honda Australia Enviro Updates

Well these are just outrageous. A car that helps the environment is an oxymoron.

Microsoft Sustainability

Cool, right? Also a big fat bunch of hokus-pokus wishful thinking that tries to mask all kinds of shady business practices behind utopian sci-fi fantasies.
