Something that hadn’t dawned on us until just now: with stable, wage-earning jobs becoming ever-more scarce, will we suddenly see a sharp increase in dubious and unfounded lawsuits? If so, you’d better get creative because there’s no telling who’ll take you to court over an issue so trifling you that didn’t even know it was an issue. For inspiration, a good place to start thinking about who you could sue is Paralegal Training’s listicle of 15 Crazy Lawsuits that Make You Want to Sue Someone.

Our favorite case pertains to the mayor of Batman, a town in Turkey (see photographic evidence at right), who sued Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan in 2008 for using the town’s name in The Dark Knight without clearing the rights. Of course, the character Batman had already been around for the better part of a century. And if you think that’s ridiculous, don’t miss the story about the guy who sued himself for violating his own religious beliefs. See what we mean?
