12 Pieces of Shopping Cart Art
In a New York Times article today, folks from Wal-Mart muse that while every other retailer in the U.S. is hemorrhaging funds and customers, they’re doing great thank you very much. While we think Wal-Mart is one of the single most evil things in the world, we’re at least glad that their success will likely lengthen the life expectancy of one of the greatest suburban street furnishings: the shopping cart. Yes, shopping carts can and do serve many purposes aside from shopping (have you heard of Idiotarod?), so thank you Wal-Mart for keeping those rickety, shape-shifting, randomness-carrying cages on wheels around a little longer. In tribute (to shopping carts, not Wal-Mart), we’ve assembled 12 Pieces of Shopping Cart Art.
