About a week ago we pointed you towards a listicle of New Depression photography, and since then bad financial things have continued to happen. It seems that many people getting laid off – at least those not brawling on the street in the middle of the afternoon – have become photographers.

This is convenient, as there seems to be an ever growing wildlife of Depression-porn (as in, pictures of abandoned Circuit City stores, not naughty images of depressed people) to capture all over the world, some of which is featured in Slate’s Flickr-farmed slideshow of 10 Great Photographs of the Economic Crisis. Our favorite is the ironic signage in the photograph at right, taken in Chicago in February.
