The ubiquitous audio clip of Christian Bale’s now-notorious freak-out over Terminator Salvation DP Shane Hurlbut’s “light tweaking” has been the talk of the tubes for the past few days. Considering the brevity of its existence, the amount of viral material Bale’s on-set meltdown has produced is staggering, even by Internet standards. We’ve seen everything from remixes and reenactments, to mash-ups and musicals. In fact, should future scientists examine the Internet’s data stream for the week ending February 6th, they would have to conclude that no one did any actual work, and instead just sat around either creating or consuming Baleout virals.
