Big Money Mondays: 5 Fancy Fictional TVs

Part of why we missed yesterday’s Super Bowl was because our TV is rather pathetic and wasn’t really up to the scale of the action going down in Tampa (we also doubt it would have known what to do with all the 3-D craziness). We’ve now resolved to acquire a better TV, and are dedicating this edition of our weekly fianancialisticle Big Money Mondays to formulating a wish-list based on some of our favorite extravagant fictional TVs. We’re not sure what they’re all worth (though we’ve provided educated estimates), but we’ll be looking for a real TV that combines the greatest number of the fun features found on these 5 Fancy Fictional TVs.

Chef’s Plasma Robot TV on South Park

$75,000 with laser gun defense system, $60,000 with regular old machine guns.

Bender & Fry’s wall-sized TV on Futurama

$100,000 before installation fees, $100,500 with DVD box set of the complete series All My Circuits.

Wikipedia-like TV program Dr. Know in Artificial Intelligence

$150,000 if voiced by Robin Williams impersonator, $2 million per month if voiced by Robin Williams.

iPhone-style touch future-vision TV in Minority Report

$600,000, comes with complimentary demonstration by Tom Cruise and free thetan reading.

Videodrome’s sentient, sensual TV

$3,000, available with Debbie Harry or James Woods video, $4,000 with self-cleaning system.

Honorable Mention: Though we couldn’t find any videos or images of it, we remember there being a killer wall-sized TV in Back to The Future 2, when Marty goes to see the house he lives in in the future. It may also have had video-phone capabilities.
