9 Recipes for National Pancake Day 2009

Little did we (or anybody else living outside the reach of IHOP ad campaigns) know, today is National Pancake Day. Of course, nobody wants to eat mediocre IHOP pancakes on such a momentous occasion, so Listicles has rounded up these 9 Recipes for National Pancake Day 2009.

  • Moby’s Vegan Blueberry Pancakes: We never though Moby would be a rabbid pancake nationalist, but here he is, submitting a recipe to Epicurious, a recipe that sounds damn good too (better than most of his songs at least).
  • Banana Pancakes: We always feel a little guilty eating pancakes. They seem so unhealthy. Stick some fruit in there though, and everything’s okay as far as we’re concerned.
  • Buttermilk Pancakes: For a long time we though buttemilk was the default kind of pancake, and we still don’t really understand why it isn’t.
  • Buckwheat Buttermilk Pancakes: Buckwheat is a difficult proposition, but when it works it makes a decadent breakfast seem a little more reasonable.
  • Apple Pancakes: If you’re lazy you might also just consider pouring warm apple cider over your pancakes. It’s a hangover brunch and eye-opener in one!
  • Chocolate Milk Chocolate Chip Pancakes: We discovered this recipe one morning when we really felt like eating an entire box of double-chocolate chocolate chip cookies. Instead we had double-chocolate chocolate chip pancakes.
  • Peanut Butter Pancakes: This cute kid-friendly recipe from Rachel Ray even explains how to pour the pancakes in the shape of a puppy. And we love eating puppies.
