The other day we were biking down a windy street and saw the prettiest thing: a swirling, spinning cluster of little off-white petals dancing in the street and up into the sky. Then we realized that it’s winter and there shouldn’t be any petals around. They were styrofoam packing chips, and we suddenly felt very sick. We were also reminded of the silly scene in American Beauty with the dancing plastic bag.
