Being militantly green is getting difficult these days and not because of opposition, but because of green trendiness. Yes, “green is the new black”, and just about everybody claims to be environmentally aware without fully understanding what that means.

To show us what it really means to be a green-blooded environmental activist, TreeHugger has compiled this informative and rather entertaining listicle of the best demonstrations over the last ten years. Some are rather depressing, others extremely destructive (one came with a hefty jail sentence), but our favorite of TreeHugger’s Top 5 Eco-Activism Events of the Past Decade has got to be the World Naked Bike Ride (pictured at right).
