Sporty Saturdays: Top 10 Montreal Canadiens Players Ever

Back for another edition of Listicles’ weekly sports column, this is freelance mascot and sports writer Onesie. With last week’s Thanksgiving-themed eating competitions list being a slight overdose of American competitiveness, we head North for a cleansing excursion.

The NHL’s Montreal Canadiens celebrate their 100th year this season, which (I’m guessing) might make them the oldest professional sports franchise in North America. With that in mind, we turn to TSN (Canada’s ESPN-equivalent) for their Top 10 Canadiens Players Ever. No huge surprises here: Patrick Roy comes in at number 7, Guy Lafleur at number 4, and I’ll let you see who snags number 1.

In the absence of any current players appearing in the top 10, check out my contribution to 100 years of the hottest hockey on ice.

Not on TSN’s list yet, but sure to be in there sometime soon (especially if the Canadiens win the Stanley Cup, hint, hint), current Canadiens boy wonder Alex Kovalev has some sweet moves, which are on show for all to see in this Top 10 of Kovalev goals. Onesie signing off until next Saturday, stay fit!
